"Mamma Mia!" and "Dr. Horrible" Earn People's Choice Awards

Meryl Streep's rendition of "Mamma Mia!" earned the top prize for Best Song from a Soundtrack at the 2009 People's Choice Awards.

Queen Latifah hosted the 35th annual awards on Jan. 7. The awards allow the public the chance to honor their favorite performers through an online voting process.

Theatre-related winners also include Sweet Charity's Christina Applegate, who won Favorite Female TV Star; the Hello, Dolly!-tinged "Wall-E," which took Favorite Family Movie; and "Secret Life of Bees," starring Jennifer Hudson, which nabbed Favorite Independent Movie and Favorite Dramatic Movie.

Kyra Sedgwick took Favorite TV Drama Diva, and "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," starring Neil Patrick Harris, was named Favorite Online Sensation.
