Producers Say Minsky's Will Bump and Grind on Broadway in 2009-10
By Kenneth Jones
Producers Kevin McCollum and Bob Boyett plan to bring Minsky's — the new Charles Strouse musical now playing in Los Angeles — to Broadway, McCollum told the Associated Press. A summer or fall Broadway opening is being eyed, AP reported. The capitalization would be $11 million. Minsky's continues to March 1 in Los Angeles. If Minsky's lands on Broadway in the coming months, it would mean a good year for octogenarian Strouse. Roundabout Theatre Company recently announced that it will produce a revival of his Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway in 2009-10. Casey Nicholaw (The Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot) directs and choreographs Minsky's. |
