Streisand Penning "Passion for Design"; Eyes Normal Heart Film
By Adam Hetrick
Tony and Oscar winner Barbra Streisand is at work on a new book chronicling her lifelong love of American architecture and design, entitled "Passion for Design." The Funny Girl and "The Way We Were" will reportedly explore her interest in vintage design from a young age, as well as the design of furniture, gardens and home architecture. "Passion for Design," aiming for a 2010 publication by Viking, is among three projects Streisand has in the works. Streisand has also drafted parts of a memoir, which she is unsure if she will publish. "Do I really want to write about my life? Do I really want to relive my life? I'm not sure," she said. A film of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart is also on the actress and filmmaker's wish list. Streisand states that she is at work securing the rights to the play that focuses on the AIDS crisis in New York City in the mid 1980's. Some "interesting cast members" have expressed interest in the project, Streisand told AP. |
