Crystal's 700 Sundays to Play Washington, Philadelphia, Dallas, Miami and More

Billy Crystal's Tony Award-winning solo show 700 Sundays, which played an extended run on Broadway during the 2004-2005 season, will tour to six cities across the U.S. starting in September.

Directed by Tony winner Des McAnuff, the title of the personal work refers to the number of days Crystal spent with his hard-working father who died when the young comedian was 15 years old. Following its heralded Broadway run, Crystal toured 700 Sundays to Toronto, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as a stops in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.

The play won the 2006 Tony Award as Special Theatrical Event.

For the latest set of engagements, Crystal will perform a mini-tour beginning this September with bookings in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, Dallas, Palm Beach, Miami and Atlanta.

"I have thought about 700 Sundays at least once a day since the last time I performed it in Australia two years ago. My love for these characters from the canvas of my life and the incredible connection that I feel with audiences while sharing this personal story have made this one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. I knew I wasn't done performing it and I knew I'd like to bring the show back when the time felt right. I'm so happy to be playing six great American cities this fall," said Crystal in a statement.

Tour dates for 700 Sundays include:

Washington, DC (Sept. 8-17 at the National Theatre)
Philadelphia, PA (Sept. 30-Oct. 11 at the Merriam Theater)
Dallas, TX (Nov. 17-22 at the Winspear Opera House)
Palm Beach, FL (Dec. 3-6 at the Kravis Center)
Miami, FL (Dec. 9-13 at the Arsht Opera House)
Atlanta, GA (Dec. 16-20 at the Cobb Theater)

Penned by Crystal, with additional material by Alan Zweibel, 700 Sundays is billed as two-act play that "deals with [Crystal's] youth, growing up in the jazz world of Manhattan, his teenage years, and finally adulthood."

Produced by Janice Crystal, Larry Magid and Face Productions, 700 Sundays has scenic design by David F. Weiner, lighting design by David Lee Cuthbert, projection design by Michael Clark and sound design is by Steve Canyon Kennedy.

Crystal's film credits include "Analyze That," "Running Scared," "City Slickers," "Throw Momma From The Train," "The Princess Bride," "When Harry Met Sally," "Mr. Saturday Night" and "America's Sweethearts."

Tickets for the Washington, DC, and Philadelphia stops will begin sale to the general public on July 13. American Express cardholders may purchase tickets now. Ticket information for other tour stops will be announced shortly.
