Callaway to Offer Streisand Tribute in Upcoming Concert
By Andrew Gans
Broadway favorite Liz Callaway will recount her time working with Barbra Streisand — Callaway helped test the sound systems in concert halls throughout the country during Streisand's last tour — in a Vermont concert next month. In addition to songs by the Beatles, Burt Bacharach, The Beach Boys, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Rodgers, Callaway, press notes state, will present an "anecdote and song celebrating [her] time spent working with Barbara Streisand." Liz Callaway, most recently on Broadway in The Look of Love, made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, and she also took part in the anniversary concert of that musical. For her work in the musical Baby, she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and her other Broadway credits include The Three Musketeers, Miss Saigon and Cats. Callaway's solo recordings include "The Beat Goes On," "Anywhere I Wander—Liz Callaway Sings Frank Loesser" and "The Story Goes On." For ticket information visit www.memhall.org/calendar.html. |
