Allegiance Reading to Feature Salonga and Takei

Tony Award winner Lea Salonga and George Takei will take part in a staged reading of the new musical Allegiance.

The July 13 reading will be held at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. The cast will also feature Jose Llana, James Snyder, Michael K. Lee, Enrico Rodriguez, Jennifer Paz and Michael Hagiwara.

The musical features music and lyrics by Jay Kuo, who co-wrote the book with Lorenzo Thione. Allegiance, according to press notes, "is a story of love, loss and heroism during the Japanese American internment."

The reading is presented by The San Francisco New Theatre Workshop (SFNTW).
