Some Enchanting Evening Benefit to Feature Eder and Mitchell

Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jekyll & Hyde's Linda Eder will join forces for the annual gala for the Tilles Center, which is located on the CW Post campus of Long Island University in Brookville, New York.



Entitled Some Enchanted Evening, the concert will be presented Oct. 24 at 8:30 PM. John Oddo will conduct a full orchestra.

The Gala will honor ProHEALTH Care Associates LLP.

Linda Eder made her Broadway debut as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde, garnering a Theatre World Award as well as Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations for her work. Also a concert and recording artist, her solo CDs include "Linda Eder," "And So Much More," "It's Time," "Gold" and "Broadway My Way." Eder also starred in Frank Wildhorn's Camille Claudel at Goodspeed. Her most recent recordings include "By Myself: The Songs of Judy Garland" (Angel Records) and "The Other Side of Me" (Verve Records). Eder will perform in concert at Manhattan's Town Hall Oct. 17 at 8 PM as part of the Fifth Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival; visit www.the-townhall-nyc.org. Her new CD, "Soundtrack," is due Oct. 13.

Brian Stokes Mitchell, recently seen in Guys and Dolls in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, earned a Tony nomination for his performance in the title role of Man of La Mancha. He won the 2000 Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for his performance as Fred Graham/Petruchio in Kiss Me, Kate, and his other Broadway credits include lead roles in King Hedley II; Ragtime; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Jelly's Last Jam; Oh, Kay!; Mail; and the City Center Encores! mountings of Kismet, Do Re Mi and Carnival. Television audiences will be familiar with Mitchell's work from his roles on "Trapper John, M.D.," "Roots" and "Frasier." Mitchell was elected the 12th president of the Actors' Fund of America, and he has performed in concert halls and cabarets around the country. His Playbill Records CD is entitled "Brian Stokes Mitchell."
