An Evening Without Monty Python Plays NYC, Beginning Oct. 6

An Evening Without Monty Python, which is described as "a paeanastic laudatory exaltation of the works of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin," plays a limited run at Manhattan's Town Hall beginning Oct. 6.

Python played the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood, CA, Sept. 23-Oct. 4. The New York engagement will continue through Oct. 10.

Eric Idle and B.T. McNicholl direct with musical direction by John Du Prez. The cast boasts Jeff B. Davis, Rick Holmes, Jane Leeves, Jim Piddock and Alan Tudyk.

The evenings celebrate 40 years of Monty Python's Flying Circus and the publication of "Monty Python Live!," a new book by the Pythons about their life on the road with the sketches they performed.

The skits and musical numbers were originally created by Idle, John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.
