Off-Broadway's Loaded to Offer Benefit Performance for LGBT Center
By Adam Hetrick
The Nov. 10 performance of Elliot Ramón Potts' two-hander Loaded will serve as a benefit for the LGBT Community Center. Loaded, according to press notes, "centers on Jude and Patrick, two men exploring whether or not their casual sexual relationship has the potential to be something more. When the generation that separates them sparks a series of misunderstandings and assumptions, their connection is strained and the conversation turns serious. Loaded taps into the climate of 21st century gay culture as it seeks to make sense of the bewildering chasm that separates middle-aged and younger gay men." The cast of Loaded also features Joel T. Bauer (The Boys Upstairs) as understudy for Jude with Rik Walter as the understudy for Patrick. Loaded has set design by Adam Koch, costume design by Steven Schacht, lighting design by Herrick Goldman, with hair and make-up design by David Santana. Loaded was previously staged in a limited run at the LGBT Center in Manhattan in December 2008. The play is produced by Ramoncito Productions, with associate producers David Santana and Tim Sutton. For LGBT Community Center Benefit tickets, priced $25-$35, visit GayCenter.Org/Events. The Lion Theatre is located at 410 West 42 Street in Manhattan. |
