Wyman, Blaemire, Oliva and More Set for Free Reading of The Giver

The Theatre Company at CAP21 will present a free reading of the new musical The Giver Nov. 23 in Manhattan.

The 7:30 PM reading will feature the talents of Nick Wyman, Nick Blaemire, Heather Matarazzo, Eric Peterson, Kathleen Oliva, Jeff Edgerton, Jaimie Kelton, Frank Galgano, Vivienne Cleary and Bridget Harvey.

Pamela Berlin will direct the reading with musical direction by Matt Castle.

The Giver, which is based on the book by Lois Lowry, features music by Scott Murphy and book and lyrics by Nathan Christensen. The new musical is described as such: "Set in a utopian community, where color, weather, and feelings have been traded for uncomplicated lives, 12-year-old Jonas alone discovers life's full potential for both pain and joy."
