Pop star Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who made her London stage debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, reprises her performance for New York audiences beginning Nov. 30 when she joins the Broadway cast of the Tony-winning Kander and Ebb musical.

Simpson-Wentz will play a limited engagement as the merry murderess through Feb. 7, 2010, at Broadway's Ambassador Theatre. Roz Ryan returns to the company Nov. 30 in the role of Matron "Mama" Morton.

"I'm honored to be reprising my role as Roxie Hart, returning to the stage and joining this amazing cast," said Simpson-Wentz in a previous statement. "Being on Broadway is a childhood dream come true."

Simpson-Wentz's albums include "Autobiography," "I Am Me" and "Bittersweet World." Her TV appearances include "Malcolm in the Middle," "Saved by the Bell," and a recurring role for two years on the WB's "7th Heaven." The singer-actress also starred in MTV's "The Ashlee Simpson Show."

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 219 West 49th Street.
