Jon Rua Is Sonny in Broadway's In the Heights Starting June 22

The cast of Broadway's In the Heights welcomes alumnus Jon Rua back to the Richard Rodgers Theatre June 22 to play cousin Sonny. In the Heights currently stars Corbin Bleu (through Aug. 17) as Usnavi, the narrator and guide of the Tony Award-winning musical tour of the Latino-flavored Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. The show that won Tonys for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Orchestrations and Best Choreography plays the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Beginning Aug. 19, In the Heights will star "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks as Nina, the college student returning to the neighborhood with a secret. Rua returns to In the Heights, where he made his Broadway debut. Off-Broadway credits include The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity (Second Stage), In the Heights, Damn Yankees (Encores!). Taylor-Corbett returns to In the Heights, where he made his Broadway debut in the original company. Off-Broadway credits include In the Heights and Altar Boyz.
