Alice Ripley Offers Solo Concert in Manhattan July 31

Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley, who played her final performance in the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical Next to Normal July 18, goes it solo July 31 as part of the BACKSTAGE dopo teatro cabaret series at the Manhattan restaurant.



Daily Practice with Alice Ripley will be presented at the New York City venue July 31 at 9:30 PM and Aug. 28 at 9:30 PM.

Producers of the concerts are Michael Alden and Dale Badway.

Alice Ripley, who won a Tony Award for her performance in Next to Normal, has also appeared on Broadway in Side Show (Tony nomination), The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce's The Dead, Sunset Boulevard, The Who's Tommy, Les Misérables and in the City Center Encores! production of Li'l Abner. She has also been seen in Next to Normal (Drama Desk nomination), The Baker's Wife, Tell Me On a Sunday, Company, Shakespeare in Hollywood, The Fabulous Invalid and Five Flights. Ripley's non-show recordings include two discs with Side Show co-star Emily Skinner — "Duets" and "Unsuspecting Hearts" — and a recording of her own compositions, "Everything's Fine." The singing actress also heads her own rock band, RIPLEY; the group has released a CD titled "Outtasite," available on iTunes, CDBaby and Pandora.com.

Ripley will reprise her acclaimed performance as Diana in the upcoming North American tour of Next to Normal, which launches Nov. 23 with a six-week engagement at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.
