By Matthew Blank
The Phantom of the Opera national tour played its final performance Oct. 31 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sarah Brightman were among those in attendance to bid farewell to the company. This third national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's megahit, directed by Harold Prince, was known as the Music Box Company. The troupe enjoyed a gala party after the evening performance, attended by a number of Phantom alumni.
We offer complete closing night coverage including exclusive backstage photos taken by cast member Michael McCoy, who played Monsieur Firmin:
The third national tour (Music Box Company) was the only production touring the U.S. in recent years, and played a total of 7,284 performances, spanning almost 18 years on the road.
