Les Misérables in Concert – The 25th Anniversary Event Screened in U.S. Cinemas Nov. 17

The 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables, which was presented at London's O2 Arena Oct. 3, is screened at movie theatres around the United States Nov. 17.
Presented by NCM Fathom, Omniverse Vision and Cameron Mackintosh, in association with The Broadway League and Nederlander/First, Les Misérables in Concert – The 25th Anniversary Event will be broadcast to nearly 500 select U.S. theatres.
The cinemas — including AMC Entertainment Inc., Celebration! Cinema, Cinemark Holdings, Inc., Clearview Cinemas, Cobb Theatres, Georgia Theatre Co., Goodrich Quality Theaters, Hollywood Theaters, Malco Theatres, Marcus Theatres, National Amusements, Rave Motion Pictures, R/C Theatres and Regal Entertainment Group movie theaters, as well as Anacortes Cinemas (Anacortes, WA), Bainbridge 5 (Seattle, WA), The Carolina (Asheville, NC), El Raton Theatre (Raton, NM), Palace Cinema 9 (South Burlington, VT), The Peerless Theatre (Holyoke, CO), Penn Cinema (Lititz, PA), State Theatre (State College, PA) and Visulite Cinemas (Staunton, VA) — will show the filmed concert at 7:30 PM.
Manhattan cinemas offering the screening include AMC Empire 25 (234 West 42nd Street), Chelsea Cinema (260 West 23rd Street), First and 62nd Cinemas (400 East 62nd Street) and Union Square Stadium 14 (850 Broadway).
This one-time tribute also includes a special performance from teen sensation Nick Jonas to mark this 25th anniversary concert celebration.
"The Les Misérables 25th Anniversary concert was an extraordinary experience for everyone at The O2, so it was thrilling to hear that the response in cinemas was just as emotional, where audiences clapped, cheered, cried and stood, just as if they were at the live event. Now that the concert will be screened to nearly 500 U.S. cinemas, this great theatrical event can now have an even greater worldwide audience," stated Cameron Mackintosh.
The cast includes Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Nick Jonas as Marius, Norm Lewis as Javert, Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Jenny Galloway as Madame Thénardier and Katie Hall as Cosette.
Cameron Mackintosh's production of Les Miserables is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo. It has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel and additional material by James Fenton. The original London 1985 production of Les Miz was adapted and directed by Nunn and Caird. The new 25th anniversary production and the O2 Concert are directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell and designed by Matt Kinley.
