Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, the award-winning and long-running quick-change comedy inspired by the film of the same name, concludes its Off-Broadway run on Jan. 16 at New World Stages.

By close, the production will have played 23 previews and 318 performances Off-Broadway and over 1,100 total performances in New York City. The production began on Broadway. After it closed there, it was reconstituted with a new cast at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) Off-Broadway.

The cast of four features John Behlmann as Richard Hannay, Cameron Folmar as Man #2, Jamie Jackson as Man #1 and Kate MacCluggage as Annabella Schmidt/Pamela/Margaret. The production also features Greg Jackson and Elizabeth Davis.

The troupe, "against all odds, breathlessly and hilariously reenact all of the characters, locations and famous scenes in Hitchcock's 1935 film thriller with just a few props and a lot of theatrical ingenuity and split second quick changes."

The 39 Steps is currently playing in London, and a year-long U.S. national tour concluded in June 2010.

The 39 Steps is adapted by Patrick Barlow and directed by Maria Aitken. It's based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon and on the book by John Buchan.

Set and costume design is by Peter McKintosh, lighting design is by Kevin Adams and sound design is by Mic Pool. Original movement was created by Toby Sedgwick. Additional movement is created by Christopher Bayes. Production stage manager is Matthew Shriner.
