The original lead singer of The Shirelles, Shirley Alston Reeves, will join the cast of Baby It's You! — the Broadway musical about the woman who founded the '60s girl group — for post-show concerts for performances July 19-22.

Reeves was born in Henderson, NC, and moved to Passaic, NJ, where she co-founded the The Shirelles, discovered by Florence Greenberg at Passaic High School. "I Met Him on a Sunday," written by The Shirelles, was the group's first single. Reeves sang lead for many of The Shirelles' greatest hits including "Mama Said," "Tonight's the Night," "Baby It's You" and "This is Dedicated To The One I Love."

In 1996 Shirley Alston Reeves became a member of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. She continues to perform.

Inspired by the true story of Florence Greenberg, "the woman who in the late 1950s took the male-dominated music industry by storm," Baby It's You! is a new Broadway musical conceived by Floyd Mutrux, directed by Floyd Mutrux and Sheldon Epps, and written by Tony nominated book writers Mutrux and Colin Escott, the team behind Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet.

The show at the Broadhurst Theatre features 2011 Tony Award nominee Beth Leavel as Florence Greenberg, with Allan Louis and Geno Henderson in a cast of 12 that features Erica Ash, Kelli Barrett, Kyra Da Costa, Erica Dorfler, Jahi A. Kearse, Barry Pearl, Christina Sajous, Crystal Starr and Brandon Uranowitz.

The playing schedule for Baby It's You! is as follows: Tuesdays at 7 PM, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM, with matinees Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets for Baby It's You! range from $48.50-$126.50, and available at the Broadhurst Theatre box office (235 West 44th Street) or at Telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200.
