Surflight Theatre, a Jersey Shore tradition in Beach Haven, NJ, opens a new production of the '50s-set musical Grease June 24 following previews from June 22. Broadway's Meredith Patterson and Andrew Call are Sandy and Danny, respectively.

Game-show host and Food Network personality Marc Summers plays Vince Fontaine in the staging directed by Jen Bender (resident director for Broadway's The Lion King) and choreographed by Shea Sullivan.

The tale of Rydell High School teens plays to July 15. Patterson starred in Broadway's 42nd Street and White Christmas. Call's Broadway credits include Glory Days, American Idiot and High Fidelity.

Grease also features Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Rizzo), Dustin Brayley (Kenickie), Deon Oliverio (Doody), Anthony Ramos Martinez (Sonny), Chelsea Lovett (Marty), Tim Ehrlich (Roger), Shayla Benoit (Jan), Samia Mounts (Frenchy), Jeremy Gaston (Teen Angel/Johnny Casino), Dana Maddox (Cha-Cha), Carla Stewart (Miss Lynch), Erica Wasko (Patty Simcox) and Drew Gasparini (Eugene). Grease features music direction by Jeremy Randall, scenic design by Charlie Smith, costume design by Jody Madaras, lighting design by Marciel Greene, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg. Bill Gilinsky is production stage manager.

Surflight is under the leadership of producing artistic director and Surflight alum Roy Miller and executive producer Timothy Laczynski.

In a statement, Miller said, "When we decided to produce the show, we wanted to make an event of it and offer Surflight audiences something new and exciting. With the motion picture growing in popularity since its release in 1978, it seemed an obvious choice to incorporate these hit songs into our production."

The internationally famous show features a book and score by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

Grease performances are Tuesday at 2 PM and 8 PM; Wednesday at 2 PM; Thursday at 2 PM and 8 PM; Friday at 8 PM; Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM. Tickets are $31-$49. Visit www.surflight.org or call (609) 492-9477.
