By Andrew Gans
"GWB," a new film written and directed by Jonathan Ullman, will be screened at the New York International Latino Film Festival, which began Aug. 15 and continues through Aug. 22.
The film stars Rayniel Rufino, Antonio Ortiz, Luis Antonio Ramos, Raúl Esparza, Alexandra Metz and Olga Merediz.
Screenings are scheduled for Aug. 19 at 10:30 PM and Aug. 20 at 9:30 PM at AMC Empire at 234 West 42nd Street.
GWB, press notes state, is "a dramatic thriller that follows its characters through the Dominican enclave of New York’s Washington Heights: an Upper Manhattan neighborhood defined by people who grow up and grow old together, where black gypsy cabs roam the land, and good or bad is often determined by what side of the street you’re on. Most of all, when push comes to shove in Washington Heights, nothing is stronger than the bonds of family."
Launched in 1999, the New York International Latino Film Festival (NYILFF) is now the premier Urban Latino film event in the country. The NYILFF's mission is to "showcase the works of the hottest emerging Latino filmmaking talent in the U.S. and Latin America, offer expansive images of the Latino experience, and celebrate the diversity and spirit of the Latino community."
