Stephen Kunken, Marylouise Burke and Marin Hinkle Cast in Rx Off-Broadway Premiere

Tony Award nominee Stephen Kunken, Marylouise Burke and Marin Hinkle will star in Kate Fodor's world-premiere comedy about workplace depression and ailments of the heart, Rx, which will begin Off-Broadway Jan. 24, 2012.
Ethan McSweeny (Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, Sabina) will direct the production for Primary Stages that will officially open Feb. 7, 2012. Performances are scheduled through March 3, 2012, at 59E59 Theaters.
Kunken (Enron, Frost/Nixon), Burke (Kimberly Akimbo, Fuddy Meers) and Hinkle ("Two and a Half Men," Graceland) will be joined by Michael Bakkensen (Noises Off, Festen), Paul Niebanck (In the Next Room…, Shockheaded Peter) and Elizabeth Rich (Cherry Orchard, A Tale of Two Cities).
According to Primary Stages, "Meena Pierotti’s job is making her unhappy. Luckily, there’s a pill for that. Well, not yet. Meena has joined the clinical trial for a new drug targeting workplace depression. The trial gets messy, however, when she falls in love with her doctor, who himself is trying to enroll in a drug trial targeting heartbreak."
Rx will have set design by Lee Savage, costume design by Andrea Lauer, original music and sound design by Lindsay Jones and prop supervision by Faye Armon.
Fodor is the playwright of 100 Saints You Should Know, which was produced Off-Broadway in 2007. She is also the author of Hannah and Martin. Her plays have been produced by Playwrights Horizons, Steppenwolf, Epic Theatre Ensemble, San Jose Repertory Theatre, London’s Courtyard Theatre and Chicago’s TimeLine Theatre, among others.
