Iain Glen and Charlotte Emmerson to Star in New London Production of Uncle Vanya

Iain Glen, seen on Broadway in The Blue Room opposite Nicole Kidman and best known for his TV appearances in HBO's "Game of Thrones" and BBC's "Downtown Abbey," will star opposite his actress wife Charlotte Emmerson in a new production of Chekhov's Unclde Vanya at London's fringe Print Room Theatre.
It will begin performances March 21, 2012, prior to an ofifical opening March 29, for a run through April 28.
Lucy Bailey will direct the new stage adaptation by Mike Poulton, and designs are by Bailey's partner William Dudley. This will be Poulton's fourth stage adaptation of the play revised for a contemporary audience, following two for Derek Jacobi (Chichester and Broadway) and one for the Mercury Theatre Colchester.
Glen's other stage roles include appearing in the West End in the RSC's production of The Crucible and Cameron Mackintosh's production of Martin Guerre. For his film role in "Silent Scream," he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Emmerson has previously appeared onstage in Bailey's production of The Postman Always Rings Twice in the West End, and in The Coast of Utopia and The Cherry Orchard, both directed by Trevor Nunn, at the National Theatre.
Bailey, co-artistic director of The Print Room, has previously directed Tennessee Williams’ Kingdom of Earth, Alan Ayckbourn's Snake in the Grass and Pasolini's Fabrication at the venue. She is currently also directing The Taming of the Shrew for the RSC, opening in January 2012.
