PHOTO CALL: Michael Esper, John Gallagher Jr. and Gerard Canonico Rock the Lower East Side

The Right Now Freakouts — a new band consisting of American Idiot alumni Michael Esper, John Gallagher Jr. and Gerard Canonico — played a free midnight gig at downtown's Rockwood Music Hall Jan. 5.

Tony Award winner Gallagher will be seen on the upcoming Aaron Sorkin series "Newsroom," and Esper has been cast in the Playwrights Horizons staging of Leslye Headland's Assistance.

All three band members were in the original company of Green Day's American Idiot.
