Denver Center Theatre Company's world-premiere production of Lisa Loomer's Passover Seder-set comedy Two Things You Don't Talk About at Dinner, directed by Wendy C. Goldberg, opens Jan. 26 following previews from Jan. 20 at DCTC's The Space Theatre. The run continues to Feb. 19.

At Myriam's Passover Seder, there is "a multicultural mix of family and friends," offering the chance for "politics and religion [to] hijack the conversation, severely testing the ties that bind," according to the Tony Award-honored DCTC. "Is peace not possible — even at the dinner table?"

The cast of Two Things You Don't Talk About at Dinner includes Mimi Lieber (Broadway's Brooklyn Boy and 2002's I'm Not Rappaport) as Myriam, Lenny Wolpe (Broadway's Wicked, The Drowsy Chaperone) as Jack, Karen Pittman as Nikki, Ben Morrow as Christopher, Sala Iwamatsu as Kimiko, Shana Dowdeswell as Rachelle, Sophia Espinosa as Mable, Catherine E. Coulson as Ginny, John Hutton as Josh, Sam Gregory as Dan, Caitlin O'Connell as Alice, Gabriella Cavallero as Lupe and Nasser Faris as Sam.

The creative team includes scenic designer Kevin Depinet, costume designer Anne Kennedy, lighting designer Charles R. MacLeod, sound designer Jason Ducat and dramaturg Doug Langworthy.

Loomer's new play, Homefree, a DCTC commission, will be part of the coming 2012 Colorado New Play Summit. Another new play, Café Vida, will open The Cornerstone Theater’s new cycle of plays on hunger in Los Angeles this spring.

Her other plays include Distracted; Living Out; The Waiting Room; Expecting Isabel; Bocon!; Maria, Maria, Maria, Maria!; Accelerando; Looking For Angels; Cuts; Chain Of Life; Birds; A Crowd of Two and Broken Hearts.

Director Goldberg is artistic director of the National Playwrights Conference at The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.
