Man of La Mancha, With Davis Gaines and Leslie Margherita, Gallops Into Musical Theatre West Feb. 10

Longtime Phantom of the Opera star Davis Gaines and Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita co-star in the Tony Award-winning classic Man of La Mancha for Musical Theatre West, beginning Feb. 10 in Long Beach, CA.
Gaines takes on the role of Miguel de Cervantes/Don Quixote opposite Margherita (Zorro, Wicked) as Aldonza. Nick DeGruccio directs the run through Feb. 26. Matthew Smedal is musical director with Carlos Mendoza as choreographer.
The cast also includes Justin Robertson as Sancho, Richard Gould as the Governor/Innkeeper, Damon Kirsche as the Duke/Dr. Carrasco, Jason W. Webb as the Padre, Steven Glaudini as the Barber, Karenssa Legear as Antonia, Dynell Leigh as the Housekeeper and Sam Zeller as Pedro/Head Muleteer.
Completing the cast are Jebbel Arce, Venny Carranza, Jay Donnell, Michael Guarnera, Isaac James, Patrick Robert Kelly, A.J. Mendoza and Ramone Owens.
Based on the Miguel de Cervantes novel, Man of La Mancha features music by Mitch Leigh, lyrics by Joe Darion and book by Dale Wasserman. The popular musical following the lofty escapades of Don Quixote and his pal Sancho includes the songs "Dulcinea," "The Impossible Dream," "What Does He Want of Me," "I'm Only Thinking of Him" and "To Each His Dulcinea."
