Kristin Chenoweth Will Be Goodspeed Gala Honoree This Summer

Goodspeed Musicals, the two-time Tony Award-winning Connecticut company devoted to new and vintage musicals, will honor Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as the recipient of The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at its Gala on Aug. 11.
Chenoweth, star of TV's current "GCB" and the recent "Pushing Daisies," appeared as Annie Draper in Goodspeed's production of Strike Up the Band. She won her Tony Award as Best Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Sally in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
Previous Goodspeed Gala honorees include Julie Andrews, Martin Charnin, Ira Gershwin, Jerry Herman, William Ivey Long, Thomas Meehan, Michael P. Price, Gerald Schoenfeld, Stephen Schwartz, Susan Stroman, Charles Strouse, Tommy Tune and Paul Williams.
Chenoweth's other Broadway credits include Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked (Tony Award nomination); Fran Kubelik in the revival of Promises, Promises; Eve/Passionella/Princess Barbera in The Apple Tree; Steel Pier; and the Encores! productions of Music in the Air, Stairway to Paradise and On a Clear Day…
Her screen credits include "Deck the Halls" with Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick, "RV" with Robin Williams, "Bewitched" with Nicole Kidman, "Running with Scissors" with Annette Bening and "The Pink Panther" with Steve Martin.
