Tony Award nominee Michael Gambon (Skylight) and stage and screen actress Margarita Levieva (Impressionism, "Revenge") will be seen in the second season of the HBO drama "Luck," according to Deadline.com.

Gambon, who guest starred on the series' first season as Mike, has been bumped to a series regular for the show's second season. Levieva has signed on for the recurring role of Sarah Israel, the sister of Nathan (Patrick J. Adams).

The series, written by David Milch, focuses on the world of horse racing and also features Dustin Hoffman, Kerry Condon, Richie Coster, Kevin Dunn, Dennis Farina, Jason Gedrick, Ian Hart, Jill Hennessy, Richard Kind, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz, Tom Payne, Mercedes Ruehl and Gary Stevens.

For the CW network, Mamie Gummer (Les Liaisons Dangereuses), the daughter of Oscar winner Meryl Streep, has been cast in Jennie Snyder Urman's medical drama pilot, "First Cut."

The project, directed by Bharat Nalluri, centers on Emily (Gummer), a new doctor who, excited to leave her nerdy past behind, discovers that life at the hospital where she works is no different than high school. Urman and Dan Jinks are executive producers.
