PHOTO CALL: Broadway's Seminar Welcomes Jeff Goldblum, Zoe Lister-Jones and Justin Long
By Matthew Blank
Broadway's Seminar, the new play by Theresa Rebeck, got a new poison pen in the form of Jeff Goldblum starting on April 3. Zoe Lister-Jones (The Little Dog Laughed) and Justin Long (TV's "Ed") also joined the troupe on Tuesday.
Alan Rickman, Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater exited the play following the April 1 matinee at the Golden Theatre. Lister-Jones succeeds Rabe as Kate, who organizes the group, and Long succeeds Linklater as unsure writer Martin.
Hettienne Park and Jerry O'Connell ("Stand By Me," "The Defenders") continue in roles they created — Izzy and Douglas, respectively. Sam Gold (The Big Meal, Look Back in Anger) directs.
The new quintet is set to play eight weeks, from April 3 through May 27.
Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck also wrote the plays Mauritius, The Scene, The Understudy and Omnium Gatherum (among many others), was an "NYPD Blue" writer and created the NBC series "Smash." Read more about Seminar in the Playbill Vault.
Seminar opened Nov. 20, 2011, and is produced by Jeffrey Finn, Jill Furman, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Roy Furman, David Ian, David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas and James Spry.
Tickets are $51.50-126.50, with Premium seating also available. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.telecharge.com, calling (212) 239-6200 or going in person to The Golden Theatre box office (252 West 45th Street).
