Soho Cinders, an original musical featuring music by George Stiles, lyrics by Anthony Drewe and a book by Drewe and Elliot Davis, is to receive its world premiere at London's Soho Theatre, beginning performances Aug. 2, prior to an official opening Aug. 8, for a run through Sept. 9.

Previously seen in a one-night concert staging at the West End's Queen's Theatre in October 2011, this full staging features a cast led by Tony nominee Jenna Russell (Sunday in the Park with George at Studio 54, reprising the performance as Dot for which she won the Olivier Award in London) and Michael Xavier (currently on a UK tour in Wonderful Town, whose previous West End credits include Love story and Spamalot).

The cast also includes Clive Carter, Suzie Chard, Amy Lennox and Beverly Rudd, with the voice of Stephen Fry.

It is directed by Jonathan Butterell, who has previously choreographed revivals of Nine and Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway, as well as the original production of The Light in the Piazza, with choreography by Drew McOnie, designs by Morgan Large and lighting by Hugh Vanstone.

It is produced by Soho Cinders Ltd., Jamie Hendry Productions, Daniel Sparrow & Mike Walsh, Neil Macus and Paul Tyer & Jamie Clark for the Booking Office in association with Soho Theatre.

In the show, "impoverished student Robbie becomes romantically involved with engaged Mayoral candidate James Prince. As their worlds collide, they are forced to fight for their own fairy-tale ending in this gay twist to the classic Cinderella story, relocated to London's Soho district."
