Tony Nominee Norm Lewis Joins Broadway Inspirational Voices for May 20-21 Concerts

Norm Lewis, a 2012 Tony nominee for his performance in The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, joins Michael McElroy and the Broadway Inspirational Voices for special concerts May 20-21.



The evenings, which are entitled Highest Praise, are being held at Central Presbyterian Church May 20 at 8 PM and May 21 at 7 PM.

A portion of the proceeds go to BIV's Educational Outreach Program. BIV members participate in these outreach programs to provide music to children in need.

Norm Lewis has also been seen on Broadway in The Little Mermaid, The Wild Party, Side Show, Miss Saigon and The Who's Tommy. His Off-Broadway credits include Captains Courageous and A New Brain, and he has toured with Once on This Island and Four Score & Seven Years Ago. Lewis' other theatrical credits include the all-star Dreamgirls, Hair and Children of Eden concerts, the City Center Encores! production of Golden Boy and regional productions of Ragtime, Pippin and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. His debut CD is entitled "This Is the Life."

Central Presbyterian Church is located at 593 Park Avenue, between 63rd and 64th Streets.

Broadway Inspirational Voices was originally founded by McElroy in 1994 as the Broadway Gospel Choir and in 1999 was renamed. The Broadway Inspirational Voices' second album, "Great Joy: A Gospel Christmas," was released on Sh-K-Boom Records in 2003 and received a Grammy Award nomination.
