Stage and screen actors Lauren Ambrose (Exit the King, "Six Feet Under") and Steven Pasquale (Reasons to Be Pretty, "Rescue Me") will star in A&E's upcoming miniseries "Coma," a modern retelling of the novel by Robin Cook and film by Michael Crichton, airing Sept 3-4.
Directed by Emmy winner Mikail Salomon ("Band of Brothers"), the four-hour medical thriller, penned by John J. McLaughlin, also features Richard Dreyfuss (Sly Fox, Death and the Maiden), Tony Award winner Ellen Burstyn (Same Time, Next Year), James Woods (Finishing Touches), Geena Davis ("The Accidental Tourist"), James Rebhorn ("Law & Order," "White Collar"), Joe Morton ("The Good Wife") and Joseph Mazello ("The Pacific," "The Social Network").
"Coma," according to press notes, "is a medical thriller about a doctor who discovers that something sinister is going on in her hospital after routine procedures send more than a few seemingly healthy patients into comas on the operating table."
"Coma" is produced by Sony Pictures Television for A&E Network. Executive producers are Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, David W. Zucker, Martin Erlichmann and Salomon.
