Book of Mormon Tour Will Star Jared Gertner, Samantha Marie Ware, Kevin Mambo and More; Tour Dates Announced

Jared Gertner, Samantha Marie Ware, Grey Henson and Kevin Mambo will say "Hello!" to audiences across America as part of the national tour of the Tony Award-winning hit musical The Book of Mormon.



Gertner, who stood by for Josh Gad in the original Broadway production of The Book of Mormon, will star as Elder Cunningham, opposite the previously announced two-time Tony nominee Gavin Creel (Hair, Thoroughly Modern Millie) as Elder Price.

Newly-announced cast members also include Ware (the Lion King) as Nabulungi, Henson as Elder McKinley and Mambo (Fela!, Ruined) as Mafala Hatimbi.

The touring cast will also feature Mike McGowan, Derrick Williams, Jon Bass, Jacob ben Widmar, Colin Bradbury, Josh Breckenridge, JR Bruno, Michael Buchanan, Jonathan Cullen, Bobby Daye, Talitha Farrow, Phyre Hawkins, Mykal Kilgore, Daniel LeClaire, Antyon Lemonte, Douglas Lyons, Kimberly Marable, Laiona Michelle, Kevin Michael Murphy, Michael Schwitter, Jeffrey David Sears, Marisha Wallace, Bud Weber, Christian Dante White and Jamaal Wilson.

Additional casting is expected.

The Book of Mormon will launch its tour in a sold-out engagement Aug. 14-Sept. 2 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver, CO.

"South Park" creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to the musical, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical.

The Book of Mormon also picked up Tony Awards for Best Direction (Parker and co-director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw), Best Performance by a Featured Actress (Nikki M. James), Best Orchestrations (Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus), Best Scenic Design (Scott Pask), Best Sound Design (Brian Ronan) and Best Lighting Design (Brian MacDevitt).
