Nick Adams, Kate Shindle, Rebecca Trehearn, Alex Gaumond Will Be Featured on Recording of Concrete Jungle Musical
By Andrew Gans
A recording of the new musical The Concrete Jungle will be recorded this month in London and New York.
Jungle, which features music and lyrics by Bobby Cronin, book by Cronin and Crystal Skillman, with additional material by Brett Teresa, Mark Petty and Angelyn Benson, was originally commissioned by Chris Hocking, Director of Musical Theatre at the Arts Educational School of London for the graduating students of 2012.
The cast of the recording will include Rebecca Trehearn as Abby; Alex Gaumond; Dean Chisnall; Danielle Hope; Kate Shindle; Ross Hunter; Olivia Philip; Nick Adams; and Jos Slovick. Other characters will be played by members of the original Arts Ed cast.
A contemporary take on the Cyrano de Bergerac story with a female twist, The Concrete Jungle, according to press notes, is a "romantic comedy of epic proportions, set in The Concrete Jungle Bar & Grill in New York City, where Abby, a nearing 30-year old Ivy League graduate, works while waiting for her writing career and love life to finally start. When Abby receives a phone call at work that changes her life forever, mistaken identity gets in the way as Abby searches deep within herself to expose her true self, flaws and all, to the man she loves."
Michael Haslam will conduct the band.
