THE SCREENING ROOM: Cabaret and Theatre Performances from Karen Mason (Video)
By Playbill Staff
MAC Award winner Karen Mason was scheduled to return to Broadway as Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca, the new musical based on the classic Daphne du Maurier novel that was recently put to a halt due to incomplete capitalization.
Since Broadway audiences will be denied Mason's performance in that role, Playbill.com is offering a mix of theatre and cabaret gems from the two-time Drama Desk Award nominee (Mamma Mia! and Carnival).
Here, Mason sings from musicals such as Sunset Boulevard, in which she appeared as Norma Desmond, and Mamma Mia! and Wonderland, in which she created the respective roles of Tanya and the Queen of Hearts. Also included are various cabaret appearances where she sings material from her multiple solo recordings.
Mason has also been seen on Broadway in Jerome Robbins' Broadway and Play Me a Country Song. Visit her page at the Playbill Vault.
