PHOTO CALL: More from Colman Domingo's Wild With Happy at the Public Theater
By Matthew Blank
Tony Award-nominated Scottsboro Boys actor Colman Domingo stars in the world premiere of his new play Wild With Happy, about family, death and healing, which began Off-Broadway performances Oct. 9 at the Public Theater. The play, according to the Public, is "a deeply imaginative and utterly outrageous new work that explores the bizarre comedy that lies within death and healing. Gil, an actor who’s struggling to carve out his own new life, finds his worlds colliding when his mother dies and he decides to have her cremated. But where should he scatter the ashes? And can he make a fairytale ending for her in the one place that made her wild with happy?" Actor-playwright Domingo (Scottsboro Boys, Passing Strange) portrays Gil, with Korey Jackson (Jamaica) as Terry, Maurice McRae ("24," "NYPD Blue") as Mo and Sharon Washington (Ths Scottsboro Boys) as Adelaide/Aunt Glo.
