The free Oct. 29 Broadway's Future Songbook Series concert, which is presented monthly by Arts and Artists at St. Paul in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, has been canceled due to Hurricane Sandy.

Directed, hosted and produced by John Znidarsic, the free evening was scheduled to spotlight the songs of up-and-coming composer/lyricist Sam Salmond.

Performers included Grace McLean, Jason "SweetTooth" Williams, Gideon Glick, Claybourne Elder, Taylor Trensch, Anne L. Nathan, Jose Llana, Etai Ben Shlomo and Emily Walton.

The evening would have featured music direction by Matt Webb, arrangements by Salomon Lerner and additional direction by Sam Pinkleton.

Sam Salmond is an alum of NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. He wrote book and lyrics for Mormons, Mothers, and Monsters (a Boston Globe Critic's Pick) with music by Will Aronson. He also penned the book and lyrics to Missing Parents, with music by Yoonmi Lee, which had a limited run at NYU in August 2012. His work will also be featured in Stand Alone: Songs About and Written by Losers Nov. 12 at 9:30 PM at The Laurie Beechman Theater.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Bruno Walter Auditorium is located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street.
