Tony Award winner Beth Leavel and two-time Tony nominee Beth Fowler celebrate their birthdays Nov. 1. In honor of the Broadway leading ladies, Playbill.com takes a look back at their careers.



Leavel, who will reprise her performance in the upcoming holiday musical Elf, won the Tony Award in 2006 for her performance in the title role in The Drowsy Chaperone and was nominated for her performance in Baby It's You! Her other Broadway credits include Young Frankenstein, Mamma Mia!, 42nd Street, The Civil War, Show Boat and Crazy for You.

Fowler was Tony-nominated in 1990 for her performance as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd and in 2004 for her performance as Marion Woolnough in The Boy From Oz. She has also been seen on Broadway in Inherit the Wind, Bells Are Ringing, Beauty and the Beast, Teddy & Alice, Take Me Along, Baby, Peter Pan, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, A Little Night Music and Gantry.
