Composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver will host and present The Rehearsal Room, an evening that features the work of new musical theatre songwriters performed by up-and-coming actors, Dec. 19 at the SideWalk Café in the East Village.

The Rehearsal Room, which will be offered at 8 PM and 10 PM, is part of the Landmark Wednesdays series. Writers represented are John Michael Lyles, David Gomez, Charles Franklin, Addison O'Donnell, Aaron Albert, Katy Rea and Kailey Marshall.

In addition to the new songwriters, the evening will feature performances from Lindsay Mendez (Dogfight, Godspell) — who will sing new work by Michael Holland (Hurricane) — Marisa Michelson (The River) and Emma Hunton (Rent).

Jonathan Larson Grant recipient and Rodgers Award winner Oliver's works include 35mm, Darling, Mrs. Sharp and Jasper in Deadland. He was also featured in Part One of Playbill's Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriters You Should Know.

The Landmark Wednesdays series, curated by Jim Caruso, is a new addition to SideWalk Café's weekly roster of live entertainment. The series will present established theatre and jazz artists in SideWalk's intimate performance space.
