Songs (and CD Cover) Revealed for "Patti LuPone Far Away Places" Recording
By Adam Hetrick
Broadway Records has revealed the songs that will appear on the new live album "Patti LuPone Far Away Places," which was recorded during the two-time Tony winner's extended engagement at 54 Below last summer. Seven-time Grammy Award nominee Robert Sher (Gypsy, How to Succeed, Nice Work If You Can Get It) produces the album that will be released Jan. 15, 2013. LuPone earned acclaim for the concert evening that opened 54 Below in June. She returned for a second engagement in August and will also play two special New Year's Eve performances there Dec. 31. The live album will also include dialogue and stories that thread the evening together. The songs featured on the album follow.

Far Away Places, directed by Scott Wittman and written by Jeffrey Richman, features "a little bit of Gypsy in My Soul, which has never been done in New York, and one song from Patti LuPone on Broadway, 'Come to the Supermarket in Old Peking,' and the rest is brand-new," the award-winning actress told Playbill.com. Among the new songs are "Pirate Jenny," "Traveling Light," "Black Market" and the title tune. The album is currently available for pre-order at Amazon.com. This series will continue with releases from other current and forthcoming 54 Below artists representing the top names on Broadway. 54 Below is located at 254 W. 54th Street.
