The feature film of Richard Alfieri's poignant comedy Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks will begin shooting later this spring in Budapest and Florida, according to a casting notice.

Marc Platt (Wicked), Jerry Offsay and Andras Somkuti are producing the intimate drama about a Florida retiree who hires a former Broadway dancer to give her ballroom dancing lessons.

Arthur Allan Seidelman will direct the screenplay adapted by Alfieri from his play. Shooting is expected to begin in March or April of this year.

Casting and a target release date have not been revealed.

Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks played a brief, 56-performance Broadway run in fall 2003. The New York cast featured stage and screen veteran Polly Bergen and Mark Hamill of "Star Wars" fame.

The play has been produced in over 20 countries across the globe since its premiere.
