By Andrew Gans
The Town Hall's Broadway By the Year series continues Feb. 11 with an evening celebrating musicals that opened on The Great White Way in 1937.
The 8 PM concert features the talents of Tony winner Tonya Pinkins, Tony nominee Brian d'Arcy James, Drama Desk nominee Kevin Earley, Elizabeth Stanley, Stephen DeRosa and Nightlife Award winner Carole J. Bufford. Mindy Cooper directs.
Attendees can expect to hear songs from Babes in Arms, Hooray For What? and I'd Rather Be Right, among others.
The evening is created, written and hosted by author/critic Scott Siegel, who said in an earlier statement, "Broadway by the Year has offered its stars the opportunity to sing the greatest songs in the history of American musical theater. We start this season with one of the finest casts in recent memory. Having such major stars as Brian d'Arcy James and Tonya Pinkins together with such bright stars as Elizabeth Stanley, Kevin Earley, and Carole J. Bufford will be a Broadway by the Year concert that will surely be remembered."
Tickets are $55, $50 and $45 and are on sale through TicketMaster.com, (800) 982-2787, or The Town Hall Box Office (123 W. 43rd Street).
