Idina Menzel Will Offer Late-Night London Club Performance April 27

Tony Award winner Idina Menzel, who is scheduled to return to Broadway in spring 2014 in If/Then, a new musical by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal writing team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, will perform at the London nightclub G-A-Y during her upcoming visit to the United Kingdom.
As previously reported, the singing actress will perform in concert April 24 at London's Hackney Empire. That evening, which is entitled Idina Menzel and Friends, will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 2's "Friday Night Is Music Night" April 26 at 8 PM GMT. Menzel will be backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Mike Dixon.

Menzel won a Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Elphaba in Wicked; she also opened the London production of that hit musical. Menzel created the role of Maureen in the original Broadway company of Rent, and her other theatrical credits include the City Center Encores! production of Hair, Manhattan Theatre Club's The Wild Party, the Public Theater's See What I Wanna See and the benefit Funny Girl concert. Menzel's screen credits include "Glee," "Ask the Dust," "Rent" and "Enchanted."
