By Adam Hetrick
"Glee" and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying star Darren Criss will hit the road this summer in a 16-city tour. The Listen Up! tour is in anticipation of a new studio album.
The tour will launch May 29 in San Francisco, with additional stops in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and New York City. Fans can expect to hear new, original material from the performer's forthcoming album. A release date for the album has not been announced.
The concert will also give fans the chance to hear songs Criss performed on "Glee" and in his Starkid shows. Material from his EP "human" will also be included.
General tickets will go on sale April 27 via Ticketmaster.
Tour dates follow:
May 29, San Francisco, CA at The Fillmore
Criss also wrote and starred in A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel, based on the "Harry Potter" series. His "Glee" cover of the Katy Perry hit "Teenage Dream" debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, a first for the series. Criss has also been seen on the television series "Eastwick," "Cold Case" and "Archer."
He made a splash with his Broadway debut in the 50th anniversary revival of How to Succeed, selling out his first performance after he took over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch for original star Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry Potter"). His three-week engagement proved to be box-office gold for producers, with increased ticket sales and several sold-out shows.
