William Hurt, T.R. Knight and Daphne Rubin-Vega Join Classic Stage Company's Romeo and Juliet

The Classic Stage company announced new additions to the cast of the upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet.
As previously announced, Shakespeare's tale of star-crossed lovers will feature Elizabeth Olsen as Juliet. Finn Wittrock, previously announced to co-star as Romeo, has withdrawn from the production due to a film conflict. A new Romeo and complete casting will be announced shortly.
Directed by Tea Alagić, the cast will also include Academy Award winner William Hurt as Friar Laurence, Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight as Mercutio and two-time Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega as the Nurse.
Romeo and Juliet begins performances Sept. 27, prior to an official opening night Oct. 16. The production will play a limited engagement through Nov. 3.
Olsen was an understudy in Impressionism on Broadway. Her film credits include "Martha Marcy May Marlene," "Liberal Arts," "Red Lights," "Silent House," "Kill Your Darlings" and "Very Good Girls."
Tony nominee Hurt's stage credits include Hurlyburly, The Drawer Boy, Long Day's Journey Into Night, and No Man's Land. His film work includes "Kiss of the Spider Woman," "Children of a Lesser God," "Broadcast News" and "A History of Violence." His TV work includes "Too Big To Fail" and “Damages."
Knight's theatre work includes A Life In The Theatre, Tartuffe and Noises Off. His TV work includes "Grey’s Anatomy," "The Good Wife" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
Rubin-Vega's stage work includes Rent, Anna in the Tropics, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Les Miserables, Gum, Two Sisters and A Piano and Jack Goes Boating. Her film work includes "Wild Things" and "Flawless."
