The Broadway production of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark was halted Aug. 15 after a cast member was injured during a performance of the elaborate musical, according to representatives for the production.
"An actor in SMTOTD has sustained an injury during this evening's performance," representatives for the production told Playbill.com. "The performance was immediately halted and the actor was taken to the hospital where he is receiving medical attention. Further information will be made available tomorrow."
The FDNY reports that the actor was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition.
Further details were not immediately available, however FDNY reports state that the individual's leg was pinned beneath backstage machinery. Ambulances were seen outside the Foxwoods Theatre shortly after 9 PM.
Representatives did not release the name of the injured cast member.
Shortly after Spider-Man began previews in 2010, cast member Christopher Tierney was injured when he fell from a raised platform into a pit in the stage of the Foxwoods Theatre.
