"When West Virginia’s senator, Kathryn Noel Cassidy (Beth Leavel), is elected the first female President of the United States, her husband Russell (Robert Cuccioli), becomes the first First Gentleman as the entire family copes with what it means to be thrust into the limelight and how being the ultimate 'working mom' affects their 15 year old son, Steven," according to press notes. "As Russell’s Chief of Staff (Sally Struthers) guides Russell through the traditions of hosting the Inaugural Tea and choosing china patterns, Steven is struggling with the intense scrutiny of his new fish bowl existence. First Gentleman combines broad comedy with the poignant story of balancing work and family. When Steven makes a really bad decision that could derail his mother’s presidency, Russell realizes that his most important job is being Steven’s father, leaving Kathryn to take on the challenge of being the leader of the free world."
