How Jerry Herman Got Me Through Analysis, Directed by Austin Pendleton, Will Play Don't Tell Mama
By Andrew Gans
How Jerry Herman Got Me Through Analysis, which is described as a "real-time therapy session infused by the music and lyrics of legendary songwriter Jerry Herman," will be presented at Don't Tell Mama Sept. 23 at 7:30 PM.
Starring and co-written by Eyal Sherf, the evening features direction by Austin Pendleton. An encore performance will be offered Sept. 30 at 7:30 PM.
In How Jerry Herman Got Me Through Analysis, press notes state, Sherf (Luft Gangster; the Drama Desk-nominated The Pirates of Penzance) and “therapist”-at-piano Stephen Borsuk "draw from the vast catalogue of the Kennedy Center Honoree to illuminate highs, low and (hopefully!) breakthroughs in the session."
Borsuk is also the musical director; parody lyrics were written by Matthew Hardy.
Don't Tell Mama is located at 343 W. 46th Street. There is an $8 cover charge for the show along with a two-drink minimum. For reservations click here. Tickets may also be reserved by calling (212) 757-0788 after 4 PM.
