Alli Mauzey Returns to Cast of Broadway's Wicked Sept. 24

Alli Mauzey returns to the role of Glinda in the Broadway production of Wicked beginning Sept. 24 at the Gershwin Theatre; Mauzey previously played the role both on Broadway and in the hit musical's national tour.
She succeeds Katie Rose Clark, who played her final performance as Glinda Sept. 22.
Mauzey joins a cast that currently includes Lindsay Mendez as Elphaba, Derek Klena as Fiyero, Carol Kane as Madame Morrible, Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Catherine Charlebois as Nessarose, John Schiappa as Dr. Dillamond and Michael Wartella as Boq.
Mauzey's other Broadway credits include Lenora in Cry-Baby and Brenda in Hairspray.
As Wicked approaches its 10th Broadway anniversary Oct. 30, there are currently nine productions of the musical worldwide: New York, London, Japan (Tokyo), Australia/New Zealand (Auckland), South Korea (Seoul), Latin America (Mexico City), a U.K. tour and two concurrent North American national tours.
Adapted from the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked delves into the back story of the iconic characters from Oz. The musical has a score by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, direction by Joe Mantello and musical staging by Wayne Cilento.
The production also features scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projections by Elaine J. McCarthy, wig and hair design by Tom Watson, music supervision and arrangements by Stephen Oremus, orchestrations by William David Brohn and dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.
Wicked won Tony Awards for Costume Design, Scenic Design and Best Actress in a Musical (Idina Menzel). It was nominated as Best Musical.
