The Last Five Years' Betsy Wolfe and Adam Kantor Will Perform at Barnes and Noble
By Adam Hetrick
Adam Kantor and Betsy Wolfe, who starred in the Off-Broadway revival of Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years, will perform at the Upper East Side Barnes and Noble in October.
The 4 PM event on Oct. 14, which will also feature writer-director Brown, celebrates the release of the Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records cast album of the two-actor musical that is released in stores Sept. 24. Kantor, Wolfe and Brown will perform and sign copies of the cast album. The UES Barnes and Noble is located at 150 East 86th St.
The new recording of The Last Five Years is produced by Brown, with Kurt Deutsch and Stacey Mindich serving as executive producers. The 2002 original cast recording of The Last Five Years – the label's first cast album – remains one of the label's best-selling titles.
Ghostlight Records is also producing a feature film based on the show, directed by Richard LaGravenese and starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. Read more about the film adaptation here. In addition, the label has preserved both the Broadway and London cast recordings of Brown's 13 – The Musical, as well as his solo album "Wearing Someone Else's Clothes."
The Last Five Years played an extended engagement through May 18. (It was originally scheduled through April 21.) Previews began March 7, prior to an official opening April 2, at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre.
