Emmy and Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison, who stars in the hit Fox TV series "Glee," will host a two-hour program for BBC Radio 2 Christmas Day.
The December 25 broadcast, which will air 6 PM-8 PM London time, is titled "When You See My Name In Lights."
"From the moment Broadway was created, the world of entertainment changed," according to press notes. "The path to stardom can be smooth - you can become an overnight sensation. Everyone’s journey is different including Matthew Morrison, presenter of this show. Better known as Mr Schuester in 'Glee,' Matthew presents two hours of Broadway hits. Like his character, he loves musical theatre and started life as a true song and dance man.… [Morrison will go] backstage to share the dreams of some of the leading men and leading ladies on the avenue known as Broadway."
About the upcoming program, Morrison said in a statement, "I'm really looking forward to playing some of the best of Broadway this Christmas Day on BBC Radio 2."
Morrison received a Tony nomination for his work in The Light in the Piazza and also appeared on Broadway in South Pacific, Hairspray, A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, The Rocky Horror Show and Footloose. On "Glee" he plays high school show-choir director and Spanish teacher Will Schuester.
