Harriet Harris, Marylouise Burke and Reg Rogers Will Take Part in Acting Company's Staged Reading of Murderers
By Andrew Gans
The Acting Company will present a benefit staged reading of Jeffrey Hatcher's Murderers Feb. 24 at 7 PM at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater.
The evening will feature the talents of Tony winner Harriet Harris, Marylouise Burke and Reg Rogers. The reading will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Ian Belknap, artistic director of The Acting Company.
“Murderers is Jeffrey Hatcher’s new play that tells us whodunit right off the bat. The best part is how they dun it and why as told in a series of three monologues,” said Margot Harley, producer of The Acting Company, in a statement. “Ian Belknap will put his deft touch on it as he did on Off-Broadway’s Of Mice and Men and the recent run of Hamlet.”
Mainstage Theater (at Playwrights Horizons) is located at 416 West 42nd Street. For tickets, priced $35 and $60, call (212) 258-3111.
The Acting Company is currently presenting a national tour of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, directed by John Rando, which runs in repertory with Hamlet (directed by Ian Belknap directs).
Founded by John Houseman, Margot Harley, Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm and David Ogden Stiers in 1972, The Acting Company has toured to 49 states and 10 foreign countries.
